A Gentle Glow in the Heart of the Yokocho
French Elegance with Poised Warmth
Nestled within Kuohka, Canal City Hakata’s underground gourmet arcade, is the newest outpost of Tout la Joie — renowned as one of Japan’s hardest reservations. As urban-vibrant as the Nagoya flagship is, Bistro Tout la Joie is soft and refined — a space attuned to Kyushu-born Chef Isshin Sumoto’s delicate cuisine and a homecoming for the chef himself.
Walls and wainscoting in muted gold generate an understated opulence. This is paired with flooring, tables and a counter in warm grey, shaping a space that feels both grounded and graceful.
The seating is tailored to both counter and table. Designed and crafted with the embracing comfort of lounge chairs, even the elevated stools invite guests to settle in and linger.
Steel-sash partitions, open across two-thirds of their height, welcome the lively flow of the arcade while maintaining the calm within. Waist-high mirrors reflect the floor, adding visual depth and a subtle sense of openness.
Rather than laying everything bare, the design guides sightlines and airflow to create a quiet dignity within a relaxed setting — a new expression of Tout la Joie-ism.
横丁の賑わいに、
柔らかく開くフレンチの華やぎ
キャナルシティ博多・地下1階のグルメストリート「KUOHKA（くおうか）」内に誕生したのは、全国屈指の予約困難店として知られる「Tout la Joie（トゥ・ラ・ジョア）」の新店舗。名古屋店が都市のエネルギーに応えるような華やかさをもつ一方で、本店舗では、シェフ・須本一信氏の繊細な料理と響き合う、やわらかく上質な空間によって、新たな「Tout la Joie」らしさを表現している。
空間構成は、壁や腰壁に華美になりすぎない落ち着いたトーンのゴールドを採用し、やわらかな華やかさを醸成。そこに、淡いウォームグレイのフローリングとカウンター・テーブルを合わせることで、控えめながらも上質で落ち着いた空間に仕上げている。テーブル席とカウンター席、それぞれに合わせた2種類の椅子を設え、いずれもラウンジチェアのような、包み込まれる座り心地を追求。ハイチェアでありながらも、長居したくなるような居心地のよさを両立している。
また、パーテーションにはスチールサッシを用い、約3分の2を開口とすることで、通りの賑わいを自然に取り込みつつ、適度なプライバシーを確保。さらに、腰高のミラーが床を映し込むことで、空間全体に奥行きと抜けをもたらす視覚的な工夫を施した。すべてを開け放たず、視線や空気の流れを丁寧に整えることで、カジュアルななかにも、凛とした雰囲気を漂わせ、「Tout la Joie」の新たな世界観を構築した。
