Echoes of Israel’s Landscape
An Intimate Market Restaurant
Within Toranomon Hills’ T-Market, Israeli chef Dan Zuckerman’s Ebisu flagship Ta-Im sees its franchise debut in Ta-Im Toranomon. Preserving the signature palette of the original ― white walls, Israel blue, and an olive-wood counter ― the space is recast for the refined, metropolitan setting of Toranomon.
Drawing from dialogue with Zuckerman and photographs of the Tel Aviv coastline, the design aims to infuse the interior with seaside light. Blush-toned plaster underfoot evokes the beach, while aluminium spandrels overhead glint with softened reflections, suggesting the sea’s shimmer.
White-painted layers of light-gauge steel (LGS) articulate the columns and walls, giving the structure an expressive presence. With environmental constraints in play, LGS was chosen for its adaptability ― easily disassembled and reused, it embeds a sustainable ethos in the design. A 12-seat counter, boldly cantilevered from the superstructure, brings the space breadth and ease, while olive-wood shelving and counters stand out vividly against the blue, their grain thrown into sharp relief.

イスラエルの風景を映す、
マーケット内の小さなレストラン
「Ta-Im Toranomon」は、イスラエル出身の料理人ダン・ズッカーマン氏が恵比寿に構えるレストラン「Ta-Im」のフランチャイズ店舗として、虎ノ門ヒルズ「T-Market」内に計画された。白い壁、イスラエルブルー、オリーブの木のカウンターといった本店の印象的な空間イメージを継承しつつ、都会的で洗練された虎ノ門の環境との親和性が求められた。
設計にあたっては、ズッカーマン氏との対話や、イスラエル・テルアビブの風景写真から着想を得て、海辺の光や空気感を空間に取り込むことを試みた。床は砂浜を思わせる淡いピンクの塗り床とし、天井には鈍い光を反射するアルミスパンドレールを用いて、海面のきらめきを表現している。
柱や壁には、LGS（軽量鉄骨）を集積し、白く塗装することで、構造そのものに表情を与えた。環境条件により造作に制限がある中で、LGSを素材とした設えは、解体・再構成がしやすく、サステナブルな姿勢を空間に反映している。上部造作から大きく張り出す形で設けた12席の伸びやかなカウンター席が、空間に広がりと開放感をもたらし、棚やカウンター材に用いたオリーブの木が、青を背景にその素材の表情を際立たせている。ブランドカラーであるイスラエルブルーは、空間にイスラエルらしさを添えつつ、冴えるような青が視線を引き寄せ、地下に広がる空間のなかで強く印象を残すように考えた。
本店の世界観を踏襲しながら、都市のなかでより開かれた場として再構成された空間である。
